Caring For Your Pearls

Kailis Australian Pearls are enduring gems from the oceans off Western Australia’s north west coast and are heirlooms to be treasured by many generations. They are remarkably resilient, but will appreciate and respond to attention and care.

We offer our customers a complimentary cleaning service, to enable you to keep your pearls looking their best.

Stored in their original case, they will remain away from other gems or jewellery that may rub against your pearls.

Ideally, apply makeup and hair products before you put your pearls on, and avoid contact with deodorant, sunscreen and chlorinated water. It is also best not to wear perfume where you intend to wear your pearls.

Although pearls can be worn and enjoyed everyday, it is advisable not to swim, shower or play sport whilst wearing them.

From time to time, simply wipe your pearls with a soft damp cloth. There is no need for detergents, alcohol or other cleaning solutions. Your pearls will respond naturally to a gentle chemical-free clean.

Some jewellery is delicate, requiring a little extra care, and is best kept in its original case. Wire or cable style pendants and bracelets should be handled gently and stored flat to avoid kinking.
